David Blau, Esq.
LEGAL COUNSEL & DIRECTOR
David joined The Earthineering Company in 2022. He has extensive experience in intellectual property, municipal, and administrative law and takes a leading role in moat building and regulatory compliance. As Lead Counsel, Mr. Blau also acts as Earthineering’s corporate Secretary and Treasurer, and sits on its Board of Directors.
Mr. Blau earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the California Institute of Technology in 1998 in both Mathematics and Engineering & Applied Science with a focus on computer science. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he worked as a civilian employee in the Department of Defense, co-founded a web design company, and developed video streaming technologies.
Mr. Blau graduated from the Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2007, having served as both Editor-in-Chief of its Journal of Intellectual Property and President of its IP Law Society. He then moved to the Boston area to practice, most recently Of Counsel at the firm Daly, Crowley, Mofford & Durkee, LLP. He has prepared and prosecuted patents and post-grant proceedings in technology areas including advanced nuclear energy, quantum computing, encryption and public key infrastructure (PKI), and high performance computing (HPC).
Mr. Blau has served as an officer and director on the boards of several non-profits, and was elected to serve in the Walpole, MA town legislature three times, beginning in 2018. Since 2018, Mr. Blau has been the legal editor for the best selling self-help book, Patent It Yourself.
Mr. Blau is registered to practice in the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
